May President's Message

Published on 5/5/2025
Dear AZ NIGP Members,

Fun was had in April.  On April 1st the Young (New) Professionals had a Meet and Greet that was wholly successful at Culinary Dropout in Phoenix.  Our chapter really is all about “Family”.

Each year, our Chapter members participate in the annual Pat's Run that was most recently held Saturday April 12th and 20 of our bravest members represented  us.  Our Chapter is so about our Community! Thanks to all those who participated.

April included a free online class done by NIGP not once but twice on Tariffs.  A hot topic for all of us to deal with right now.  Contact me if you would like the power point.

NIGP held an a VCON for Innovation and Technology on April 29th to May 1st.   Just more great professional development available at your desktop.

Welcome to the wonderful month of May!

The AZNIGP Chapter Training Meeting on May 13th is completely sold out!  Gary Barkman and his Cooperative Committee will be regaling us with some best practice strategies for cooperative purchasing.  We look forward to seeing you there if you were able to get registered.  Please, if you are registered and can not make it, go online and cancel your registration for the event so that others may benefit.  Those that would still like to attend, check back at the website often for openings.

Our crown jewel in May is the upcoming Reverse Vendor Trade Show on May 19th at the Tempe Center for Arts on the beautiful shores of Tempe Town Lake.  We filled all the public entities booths. For the first time ever, we sold sponsorships and Lisa Goodman and her team have sold them out!  Vendors are feverishly registering so thank you to those of you who are hosting a table at the event.  Please contact Lisa Goodman and/or Susan Holt if you have questions about this amazing event.  Be sure to invite your vendors whether you can host a table or not.  This is our chance to interact with our vendor community in a very positive way.

Check out the calendar on our website to register for upcoming NIGP Courses and opportunities.  Yes, there is still time to register and attend Forum in Denver on July 27th.

Lastly, good luck to all those who have been studying and participating in the CPPO/CPPB review sessions over the last few weeks. We wish you the best of luck on the exams!

As always, reach out at anytime to Bill Munch for all things AZNIGP!

Thank you and may all your purchasing dreams come true…
Sincerely,

Bill Munch, NIGP-CPP, CPPO, CPPB
