Dear AZNIGP Members,
Welcome to the final quarter of the calendar and chapter year!  Lots going on so let’s jump in.
If you recall, back on July 22nd, the Copper Chapter invited our members to their training meeting and the information exchanged was beneficial to all.  Our chapter returned the favor on September 16th by inviting the Copper Chapter to OUR Chapter Training Meeting. The speaker was Sean Carroll, the former Chief Procurement Officer for the State of New York.  He spoke so eloquently and gave us new perspectives about how to deal with crisis situations.
At that meeting, we also had a presentation from our Membership Committee to remind everyone of the benefits of being a member of our great chapter.  Evan Karl and Rob Cochran were outstanding in providing information beneficial to all of us. Finally, David Steuber, our own State Procurement Administrator, connected and gave us updates on the happenings at SPO.  In my 35 years as a member of the Capitol Chapter, I don’t recall a more productive Chapter Business Training Meeting that delivered more information and clarity.
For the first time ever, we were excited to have Copper Chapter Members jump on board for that meeting. You have heard it before but I will say it again, we currently have over a dozen procurement professionals that are members of both chapters! They see the value each chapter brings.  Our chapters do so much to support the public procurement community and it is sensational that we are so willing to help and work with each other. You may find the same benefits by being a member of both chapters.  Just something to seriously consider.  Visit their website
Copper Chapter.
Our 36th Annual Regional Conference and Vendor Expo, HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK FOR PROCUREMENT, is just around the corner on October 16th.  As of the penning of this article, registration is still open on the website but there are less than 10 slots open!  If we do sell out, there may be opportunities that open up, so please watch your email and check back at the website often.  Michael Greene and I met with the Keynote Speaker last week and we are excited to have her motivate and inspire us.  She is from Chicago and a Cubs fan so how can she miss?
Michael and his Regional Conference Committee have been working to put together a great conference including sessions that will take your procurements to the next level.  We have sold out all the vendor booths for the Expo.  Please encourage your end users to attend the Vendor Expo for free.  This is great opportunity for them to interact with multiple vendors in one setting.
One last plug for the Copper Chapter.  Crank the volume up to ELEVEN and come jam with the Copper Chapter because on November 5, 2025, the Copper Chapter is hosting THE BEST ROCK N’ ROLL-THEMED REVERSE VENDOR TRADE SHOW!  Please consider hosting a table at the Tucson Convention Center and inviting your vendors to attend by visiting the
Copper Chapter  website for more information.
As always, remember to check out the calendar on our website to register for upcoming NIGP Courses and professional development opportunities.  Please reach out to me anytime at
