December Presidents Message

Published on 12/2/2025
Dear AZ NIGP Members,

Happy Holidays!  I hope you were able to connect with your families over the Thanksgiving Holiday and into the Christmas Season.  I spent the week before Thanksgiving in Chicago with family.  We left the day after Thanksgiving to head back to Arizona.  That turned out to be a great decision as Chicago recorded the most snowfall ever on any day in November.  Over 8 inches blanketed Chicagoland delaying and cancelling many flights and reminding me why I live in Arizona.  I pray your travel plans were not delayed.  I am looking forward to a continuing a great holiday season.

Congratulations to these individuals who recently received their CPPB/CPPO certification during Fall 2025:

Aimee Fields, CPPB – ADOT
Michael Gale, CPPB – City of Mesa
Diana Landeros, CPPB – Town of Queen Creek
Niki Large, CPPB -ADOA/SPO
Kendall Small, CPPB – Maricopa County
Victoria Wride, CPPB – AZDCS
Eva Pierce, CPPO – City of Glendale

These individuals should be commended for the efforts in furthering their professional development journey.

Our last Chapter Training Meeting for this year is the December Transitional Board Meeting and Luncheon on December 9th at  the Doubletree by Hilton Phoenix/Mesa, 1011 West Holmes Mesa, AZ 85210.  If you served on a committee, please plan on attending the luncheon so you can receive your committee certificate and gift.   Our own State Procurement Administrator, David Stueber will be the Keynote Speaker for this festive event!  He will be addressing:

Opportunities for State Economies of Scale
Strategies for Price Adjustments
Market Changes

You don’t want to miss this informative discussion.

One last appeal for 2026.  If you are interested in chairing or co-chairing a committee for next year, please email Michael Greene with your interest. Our chapter needs volunteers so do not hesitate to step up.  If you would like to join a committee, you will be able to do so once we update the website with the 2026 committee chairs and co-chairs.  Once you have been notified of the updated committee information, you will be able to email the Chairs with your interest to volunteer.

As always, remember to check out the calendar on our website to register for upcoming NIGP Courses and professional development opportunities.  Please reach out to me anytime at Bill Munch for all things AZNIGP!

Finally, it is with much melancholy that I pen this last message of 2025.  I have enjoyed every minute as your President but look forward to handing the reigns to my dear and lifelong friend, Michael Greene for 2026.  Under his leadership, we will continue to promote our relationship with the State Procurement Office and the Copper Chapter.  Our Chapter will continue to set the standard for all other Chapters in NIGP to emulate.  I am grateful to each and everyone of your in our public procurement family that makes our chapter so fantastic.
Go Public Procurement Go!

Sincerely,

Bill Munch, NIGP-CPP, CPPO, CPPB
AZNIGP 2025 President
