Speaker: Matthew Insco

Matt is the Branch Chief of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics West Regional Information Office.  He leads a team responsible for disseminating BLS data through press releases, analytical articles, and the BLS website.  The office conducts outreach on behalf of BLS and supports data users by helping them access, understand and interpret BLS statistics.  Matt is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, and has worked at BLS for over 25 years.

Topic: Price Escalation Made Practical: Using BLS Indexes in Procurement Contracts
1. Overview of key inflation measures produced by BLS, including Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index and Employment Cost Index
2. Explanation of what each index measures, how they differ and common use cases in contracts
3. Step-by-step guidance on how to find and access these publicly available indexes on the BLS website
